The Communications Operator receives and transfers telephone calls using Lakeside Medical Center’s switchboard telephone console. The employee provides prompt service and response to incoming calls from all patients, physicians, hospital staff and all outside agencies including the community. The employee is responsible for monitoring all emergency panels and announcing the emergency code using the telephone console and/or the fire panel microphone according to the respective Emergency Code procedure.
Under direct supervision, the purpose of the position is to provide assistance to Registered and Licensed Practical Nurses in the delivery of Health Care Services. Employees in this position are responsible for performing non-licensed work to meet the hygienic, emotional, and physical needs of residents to assist them in restoring, reaching, and/or maintaining their optimal level of function. Care is performed in compliance with a written plan of care and assignment.

Responsible for oversight and direction for nurses (RNs), Patient Navigators (PNs), and Medical Assistants (MAs) for the Health Care District’s Primary Care Clinics. Provides clinical guidance and training to RNs and MAs. Evaluates the effectiveness of the care provided to patients by RNs and MAs. Monitors ongoing RNs and MAs clinical performance. Maintains responsibility and accountability for RNs and MAs to ensure their performed duties are in accordance with established policies, nursing standards, and clinical protocols.
