Overview

The Trauma Agency Specialist will report to the Trauma Agency Nurse Manager, and assume responsibility for the coordination of the Trauma Agency’s outreach programs on Trauma related subjects. Additionally, the Specialist will provide coordination of grant projects obtained by the Trauma Agency.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for day-to-day and overall coordination of the Tai Ji Quan program, as well as all Trauma Agency outreach programs, including but not limited to, setup, breakdown, registration of participants, storage and upkeep of all materials and inventory needed to maintain scheduled operation of the class at assigned location(s). Including being a back-up instructor as needed.
  • Responsible for coordinating the Trauma Agency’s outreach location opportunities throughout Palm Beach County, including collaboration with the county’s community partners to plan, strategize and assist in county-wide trauma outreach programs.
  • Responsible for coordinating staffing and maintaining records of community instructors for all of the District’s Trauma outreach programs.
  • Responsible for aiding in recruitment efforts for community instructors, including coordinating instructor courses.
  • Responsible for coordinating the Trauma Agency’s current and future grants under the direction of the Trauma Agency Nurse Manager, Director of Corporate Quality and Chief Medical Officer.
  • Responsible for scouting grant opportunities for the Trauma Agency.
  • Responsible for collaborating with various Health Care District business units for grant’s mission implementation and ongoing coordination; including coordination of Falls Prevention Clinic.
  • Responsible for coordinating county-wide trauma outreach data collection and preparing verbal and/or written reports for the Trauma Agency detailing the assigned outreach progress.
  • Responsible for maintaining coordination of all Trauma outreach property and inventory.
  • Serves as a liaison between the Trauma Agency and county outreach professionals when called upon.
  • Job will require travel to outreach locations within in Palm Beach County.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Emergency duty may be required of the incumbent that includes working in Red Cross shelters or to perform other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to threats or disasters, man-made or natural.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate's degree in related field required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in wellness program coordination, or wellness program instructing preferred. Previous experience in community outreach program development, community engagement, event-planning or coordination preferred. Previous experience in grant or basic bookkeeping coordination preferred. Previous experience in basic data management coordination preferred. Proficient computer skills required relative to job experience in database design, word processing and use of multimedia applications.
