General Statement of Job
This position is responsible for the clinical supervision and evaluation of clinical competencies for nursing and other clinical staff at their designated clinic. This position will be the clinical content expert for nursing and administrative staff, as needed, and will assist with coordination/continuity of care. Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to, on-boarding and training new clinical staff and working closely with Practice Manager to ensure safety, quality, and performance metrics of the clinic and organization are met. This position will assist with workflow improvements and represent the clinic on assigned committees. Additionally, this position provides direct patient care, as needed, to ensure smooth clinic flow and provider support.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Provides direct patient care and/or provider support, and patient triage, as needed.
Provides clinical supervision and expertise for nursing and other clinical staff at designated clinic.
Completes annual and new hire competency reviews for clinical staff at designated clinic.
Assists with care coordination, as needed, between CL Brumback Primary Care Clinics, specialists, and ancillary services.
Works with Practice Manager to evaluate clinical staff candidates.
Documents and reports on inpatient and emergency care encounters to assist, as needed, in discharge planning, follow-up care, patient education, and tracking.
Keeps abreast of current best practices, guidelines, and regulations, as appropriate.
Works with the Practice Manager to compile and present required monthly reports, and to ensure clinic and organizational objectives surrounding safety, quality, finance, and etc., are met. Works with the Practice Manager to set and adjust clinical staff schedules and assign tasks, as needed.
Maintains nursing supplies inventory and ordering process.
Participates in meetings and committees, as assigned.
Acts as interim lead in absence of Practice Manager.
Emergency duty may be required of the incumbent that includes working in Red Cross shelters or to perform other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to threats or disasters, man-made or natural. Additionally, incumbents are required to perform emergency response and management duties for Palm Beach County as required
Associate’s degree in Nursing required.
Three (3) years nursing experience, one (1) to two (2) years case management experience and an understanding of a managed care organization. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook, required. CPT, ICD-9/ICD-10 Codes, and Interqual qualifications preferred.
Current BLS certification required.
Current, valid State of Florida Registered Nurse license required.
