The Nurse Auditor conducts clinical audits to assess risk and protect patients from harm; the auditor makes recommendations for changes when necessary and then re-evaluates the system to determine if the changes are effective. The auditor carefully documents all activities, findings and recommendations, and reports them to the Risk Management Health Care team.
Responsible for collecting, analyzing and aggregating data to assist in the identification of risk, trends and processes that effect patient and general safety.
Conduct clinical chart reviews, patient safety surveys, and surveillance rounds.
Provide issue identification, problem analysis and strategies for resolution and communicates to the Director of Corporate Risk Management.
Collaborate with Risk Managers and Risk Management designees to assist with the development and tracking of action plans composed to prevent and mitigate issues at their assigned facilities.
Will interview patients, family members, and employees about perceived safety problems and incorporate findings into a report or policy change recommendations to the Risk Management team.
Emergency duty may be required of the incumbent including but not limited to working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, performing other emergency duties responding to threats or disasters, man-made or natural as required.

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required.
Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience at the Registered Nurse level; two of which is preferred in a risk management capacity.
Basic Life Support certification required. Cardiac Life Support Certification preferred. Risk Manager Certification preferred.
State of Florida, Registered Nurse license required.
