    General Statement of Job

    Responsible for assisting the Chief Financial Officer in the oversight responsibility for accounts receivable management. Develops reporting packages, analyzes A/R trends, and investigates variances and fluctuations in A/R balances. Identifies factors that affect reimbursement and assists in implementing process changes to maximize net revenue. Meets with Revenue Cycle managers and staff to discuss A/R performance.   Creates dashboard reports and performs rate/volume variance analysis and other analysis as requested.  Analyzes reimbursement compared to contracted rates and terms.


    REPORTING AND ANALYSIS – Development and monitoring of Accounts Receivable reports, including but not limited to A/R aging, credit balances, denials, transactional analysis, A/R analysis, revenue by location, adjustments by business line, financial class change unapplied cash, cash collections, visits by procedure code, late charges. Development of dashboard reports and key indicators.

    DATA COLLECTION – Data entry and tracking of miscellaneous data related to billing for all service lines, including aeromedical, clinics, hospital, SNF and subrogation. Gathering of supporting documentation for the billing and collection functions. Maintains Medicare, Medicaid and managed care fee schedules.

    MANAGED CARE – Perform analysis of actual payments to contracted terms and fee schedules. Perform analysis of denials and identification of internal issues impacting reimbursement.  Work with revenue cycle team members to improve efficiencies and reimbursement.  Monitor risk pools and incentives as defined by contracts.   Project incremental reimbursement associated with performance.

    RESEARCH – Performs research on Medicare and Medicaid rules, provider manuals, and managed care requirements. Communicates changes to government and non-government programs to RCM staff. Implements formal means of communicating regulatory and program changes.

    Emergency duty may be required of the incumbent that includes working in Red Cross shelters or to perform other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to threats or disasters, man-made or natural. Additionally, incumbents are required to perform emergency response and management duties for Palm Beach County as required.



    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field required.


    Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in accounts receivable management required.  Strong understanding of accounts receivable cycle, Medicaid and Medicare payer information and other methodologies of reimbursement required.
