Looking for a dynamic Family Practice Physician who shall be employed by the District of Palm Beach County to serve primarily as Family Residency Program Director and Director of Medical Education as well as a provider for clinical patients.
The Program Director shall fully implement the Basic Standards for Residency Training in Osteopathic Family Practice and Manipulative Treatment as outlined in the AOA documents as well as in Program documents. Other relative duties necessary for maintaining a quality Residency program would apply.
The Director of Medical Education shall have the responsibilities of coordinating all AOA training programs at the base institution; ensure compliance with the AOA Basic Documents and AOA approved specialty standards for OGME programs; Organize and implement a high quality OGME program at the base institution supervising all aspects of the OGME program; Manage the Internal Review process with the MEC; Prepare and present an annual report on the “state of AOA educational programs in the institution” to the Medical Staff and Governing Board , with a copy to the POTI. Copies of annual reports shall be available for on-site reviews. The annual report will review the activities of the Medical Education Committee (MEC). Other relative duties for oversight of the OGME program would apply.
Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree required.
Previous experience in a rural setting and in a public sponsored hospital is preferred. Bilingual /Trilingual in English, Creole and Spanish preferred.
Health Care District Primary Care Clinics providers must be licensed and registered as a physician in the State of Florida, be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Internal medicine, Family/General practice, or Preventive Medicine/Public Health. Current BLS certification required.
Unrestricted license form the Florida Board of Osteopathic Medicine or Florida Medical Board.
Drug Enforcement Agency Controlled Substance Registration including schedules: 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, 5.
Current Medicare and Medicaid provider numbers required. Demonstrates current knowledge of general/internal/family medicine ongoing professional development.
