    General Statement of Job

    This position analyzes and defines information needs, reporting and analytical prerequisites and translates those into functional reporting requirements. This employee gathers data through our numerous sources - from integrating our data, and looks at trends - to interpret patterns and draw sound conclusions. Creates methods for identifying data patterns and trends healthcare data. Understand business processes and express an attentiveness in going beyond the obvious, researching the source of a problem to develop analytical solutions. Participates in the selection of complex computer programs to mine data sources. Delivering quality solutions including, but not limited to, the implementation and support of the following areas are also components of this role: Electronic Data Interfaces (EDI)/gateway, data mapping and database conversion processes, data warehouse concepts, advanced SQL knowledge, local, state and federal mandated reporting requirements (HIPAA and HTECH).


    Specific Duties and Responsibilities

    Essential Functions:

    Develop custom data solutions for our business lines, solving their business operations problems. Create reports, dashboards, and models for key stakeholders to utilize. Be driven by data and like the challenge of participating in our IT business intelligence functions.

    Apply critical thinking to analyze existing software systems and can predict future requirements of our Customers. Assists the supporting team in implementation of new dashboards to suit industry requirements and standards.

    Documenting the reports obtained from the team members and presenting them to the Director of Information Systems is also one of the important responsibilities of the software support manager.

    Manages large scale projects. Provides resources to appropriately manage new implementations, upgrade outdated systems while also supporting current applications to maintain business processes efficiently.

    Participates in planning, meeting and documentation of project processes.  Establishes strong project scope/deliverable documentation to gain agreement that deliverables are within targeted expectations.

    Provides quality assurance/testing of reports/implementation processes prior to customer delivery of any changes.

    Performs all supervisory and managerial functions/timekeeping/weekly reporting and performance appraisal reviews appropriately/on-time and efficiently.

    Provides support for any District audits.  

    Develops and maintains positive customer relationships with all IT customers.

    Ensures that Business Recovery/Quality Assurance program is being adhered to, including participation in annual business recovery application testing and documentation.

    Utilizes change management processes and techniques in an appropriate manner.

    Adheres to all District Policies and Procedures.

    Participates in strategic planning sessions.

    Provides adequate back up for personnel technical requirements, including on-call first level support across the IT customer base, as needed.

    Provides support for the Help Desk functions, and IT On-Call duties, as needed.

    Travels to remote locations on-request appropriately to provide IT support.

    Emergency duty may be required of the incumbent that includes working in Red Cross shelters or to perform other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to threats or disasters, man-made or natural.


    Position Qualifications


    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related business experience with concentration in business intelligence.


    Five or more (5+) years of proven business analysis experience with work in a data warehousing role and with business process re-engineering and architecture required. Solid SQL experience and Microsoft BI Suite (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS) required. Experience working with large data sets/BigData required.  Experience working Tableau or other BI tools required. Ability to take large data sets and summarize down to actionable levels, turning analysis into answers. Experience with health care industry data required.


    Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
